FATAL ACCIDENT.

NAPIER, June 22. An accident which resulted fatally occurred at Hastings this evening. Just as the 5 o'clock train fop Napier was leaving Hastings an elderly man named William Tait attempted to get on the train while it wasj moving, and somehow jfe from the carriage, a portion of the train going over his lower limbs and ■ crushing both legs below the knee. He> was brought to Napier, and admitted to the Hospital, where he died about 8.30 p.m.
