WELLINGTON, June 22.
The writ tor he Hokitika bye-eleo-tion, to fill the seat occupied by thfr late Premier, will be issued at the*' beginning of next week. It is anticipated that the election will b& fixed fur Tuesday, July 10th. It is regarded as almost certain that Mr Thomas Seddon, the late Premier's second son, will ba nominated. Mr H. L. Michel, Mayor of Hokitika, has decided to stand against allcomers. LATER. In response to a requisition sent from Westland through the Hon. W. Hall-Jones to Mrs Seddon, asking that she should allow one of her sons to contest the seat so • long held by the late Premier, it is announced to-night that T. Y. Seddon, Mrs Seddon's second son, will be a candidate. Mr T. Y. Seddon is 22 years of age, and is a law student at Victoria College.
