FOOTBALL.
The football matches that were to have bean played to-day have been' postponed owing to the death of the Premier. a team from the Liberal Football Club (Featherston) played Kia Toa at Eketahuna on Thursday. The game resulted in a draw, both sides scoring three points (a penalty goal). Prendeville kicked the goal for Kia Toa. Mr Bert. Richards) was referee. Mr H. M. Wiles, who is Secretary of the Bush Rugby Union, is to be tendered a farewell social in the Hamua Hall on Thursday evening next. Mr Wiles is leaving the Eketahuna district for Auckland. The Bush Rugby Union fixtures for to-day are:— v. Konini, at Konini; Nireaha v. Hukanui, at Hukanui. Mr F. D. Polling will referee at Hukanui, and Mr Qgdea at Kuniui.
