WORTH WAIRARAPA BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.

MEETING OP TRUSTEES. The monthly meeting of the 'TiUßteea of the North Wairarapa Sooiety was held yesterday afternoon. There were pre«mt:—Messrs R. T. Holmes (chairman), W. Morris, J. A. Kenall, E., .Feist and Mra Nicholls. Before the business of the meetjog was proceeded with, Mr Kenall dwel* - - briefly on the great losa the colony had sustained through the death of the Premier. He referred to the assistance given by Mr Seddon in connection with the eatab Jiahing of the RenallSolway Homo. He moved: "That the North Wairaxapa Benevolent Sooiety place on record its profound sorrow at the death of the Right Hou. the Premier, Richard John Seddnn, rnd its appreciation of his life's devotion to the uplifting of tha people, the welfare of the colony and the unity of the Empire." The " Chairman seconded the motion, which was carried in silence, all the Trustees standing. Mr Renall further moved: "That the deep and heartfelt sympathy of the Trustee? be conveyed to Mrs Seddon and family iu their sudden and irreparable berea.ernont." The Chairman seconded the motion, whiob was carried. An application was received from a man, 65 years of age, and who had been about 40 years in the district, for admission to the RenallSolway Home. After folly oonaiderinc the case, the Trusteea decided to allow the applicant 12s per week for rations or board instead ot admitting him to the Home. A resident of Cole Street was allowed 7s per week towards the keep of the youngest child of a person -who waa leaving for Kotorua for the benefit of his health. The pay-sheet amounting to £328 -5s lid (charitable aid £46 17s 3d, 'JRenall-SoUay Home 5281 8s 8d) passed for payment'. Various minor matters in conneo'ton with the Keuuii-Soltvay Home were dealt with, end the meeting ad • journed.
