NIREAHA NEWS.

Monday. The weather here daring the laßt week has been very unsettled. A alio came down on to the Valley Road, and for a short time the traflki was blooked. The slip has now been removed. While Mr Obrlsteneen, of Putara, was leading his horse and buggy up to a neighbour's house the animal took i right and bolted. It dashed into the corner of a house, the buggy being upset. The animal then galloped two and a-half miles with the ehaftß dandling at its side Eventually it fell, and was secured. When taken into the mill stables the animal was found to be staked all over, and is not expected to recover. , TheTaraua Rifle Club's dance has been fixed for the 29th instant, at which the trophies won during the past season will be presented. A meeting of the Nireaha branch of the Farmers' Uniun was held in the Public Hall, on Monday last. Mr.A. Redpath, President, was in the chair. After the usual business the delegate read a paper dealing with the Wellington Provincial Conference, and his impression in connection therewith. Mr Fred, 'larr, of Newman, who has a milk run in towu, intends giving it up at an early date. Mr T. B. Mason, of the Nireaha Cheese Factory, will attend; the meeting of secretaries of the various factories, to be held in Palmerston North, on June 19th.
