CARLTON QUOITS CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the Carlton Quoits 01ub,was held in, the Occidental Bote! last evening. Mr fa], Welch occupied the chair, and these was a good attendance of members. The Secretary '(Mr T. Flaws) presented a report, dealing with the affairs of the Club since its formation, which showed the Club to be in.a sound position. Mr Flaws was congratulated on the splendid manner in which the report was drawn up. Ihe following-were . elected members of the Club:—rß. Hatch, N. Hatch, J. Cress, F. O. Oooper, C. Sowman 0. Tootell, J. MoKenzie, R. Andrews, U. Egan, J. Pauling. . , • The election of officers renulted as follows: Patron, Mr J. O'Meara (re eleoted); President, Mr J. Pauling; Vice Presidents, Messrs F. ,'C. Cooper, J. Cress, J. MoKenzie, A. C. Major, P. L. Holiings; Captain, Mr E. Weloh (re-elected); Vice-Captain, Mr T. Pinkney (re-elected); Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr T., Flaws (re-elected); Hon. Auditor, Mr A. J. Hathaway; -General Committee, Messrs J. Young, G. Pye, W. C. Welch, N. Hatch, T. Higgs; Handicapper, Mr J. MoKenzie; Delegates to the Wairarapa Quoits Association, Messrs T. Pinkney and E. Welch. It was deoided to open the season on Thursday next, June 14th, on the Club's grounds between the Waipona Bridges. It was also deoided to try and arrange a match with the Opaki Club on Thursday, July 12th. Mr N. Ilatoh has promised a pair of quoits for competition, and was aooorded a vote of thanks. Mr T. Pinkney has decided to allot his gold medal to the member who scores the most points in matohes during the season. Votes of thanks were passed to the owner for the use of his grounds, and also to the lady members for the way they have assisted the Club.
