PIETERMARITZBURG, June 10. Two of Sigananda's forces have been scattered. The bolder spirits have joined the rebel chief Bambaata, and the rest ate still hiding in caves. A witch doctor attributes the recent defeats to fighting in the open, and advises the natives to go in for bush fighting in the future. Two hundred of Bambaata's followers have deserted, and are hiding in Durban to escape punishment.

Received Juue*ll, 9.2 p.m. FIETERMARITZBURG, Jane 11. Colonels Mackenzie and Barker attempted to envelope twenty companies of Bambaata's and Mehlokazulu's impis in the vicinity of the Mome Mountains. Hearing that Colonel Barker was heavily engaged in a valley, Colonel Mackenzie, who was on the top of the mountain, descended and succeeded in partly cutting off the enemy. Meblokazulu and 35 rebels were killed. g Many of the enemy]were wounded. The rebels became demoralised, and fled soon after the oonfliot began. It is reported that'Bambaata was wounded. Captain Maofarlane, of the Transvaal Mounted Rifles, and Lieutenant Maraden, of Royston's Horse, were killed. Six of Colonel Barker's troopers were wounded. Colonel Royston has been ordered to increase his force to one thousand. The Government are raising another one thousand irregulars to replaoe the Citizen Militia.
