TIBETAN INDEMNITY.
CALCUTTA, Jane ].■ The first instalment of the Tibetan indemnity (£56,000) has been paid in Calcutta. (Tibet originally agreed to pay Great Britain an indemnity of £500,000, but it was subsequently decided that the amount should be £166,000.)
