RESULTS OP YESTERDAY'S MATCHES. Kia Kaha A, 5; Carterton, 1. > Kia Kaha B, Lil; W.F.C.A., nil. KIA KAHA v. CARTERTON. Perhaps the heac - conditioned pluyers in the Major Cud Ooinpetitioo so far tbia season are the Kia Kaha A team, and this fact, together with the splendid oombiuatipn they displayed, was no doubt responsible for their victory, by five goals £to one, «jver Carterton, at Lansdowne, yesteraay afternoon. During the first spell, play was of a very even nature, although the Caiterton goalkeeper tTootnath) was celled upon to stop a few warm shots by the local forwards. No score, however, was registered. In ihe second half the Kia Kahas put great vim into their play, and after a creat deal of erratic shooting, the first goal of the match was registered by Rue. After this play ■ became very fast, and hard hitting by the backs kept the ball travelling merrily, until Williams sucoeded in pJaoing another goal to the credit of the Maßterton team. The Carterton forwards now beoame aggressive, and from a melee ia the circle W. Fisher shot a goal for Carterton. From the "bully" the ball was quickly transferred to Jago, on the wing, who scored a nicja goal at a rather difficult angle. Hughes and Williams then scored for Kia Kaha in quick succession, and when the whistle sounded the local men were still on the attack. Undoubtedly the best back play on the ground was put in by Thynne, at full for Kia Kaha, while Donald, at centrehalf, got in some fine defensive work.. The forwards all played well, and a pleasing feature of their play was the way in whioh they hit out when in their opponents' circle. The mainstay of the Carterton team was the Fiaher .Brothers, who bit and fielded well. Feist (half) and ABhton (forward) also played well. Mr S. Noble-Camp bell was referee. KIA KAHA B v. W.F.C.A. 'lbw Championship match between the W.F.C.A. and KiaJJaha B teams was played at Lanedowne, yesterday,, The ground was in good order. The game was evenly contested, but there was no brilliant play. The game ended in a draw, neither side scoring. For the W.F.C.A. Richards and Fairbrother ware the best of the backs, and Pragnell and Bannister played well amongst the forwards. Truscott and Nicol were the best of the Kia Kaha backs and Carley and Baker were the pick of the forwards. Mr W. Bannin, of Carterton, was referee.
