OBJECTING TO A REFEREE.

WELLINGTON, May 23. On Saturday last the Petone Football Team refused to take part in a senior match against the Wellington team on account of its objection to the referee who had been appointed by the Referees' Association. At a meeting of the Wellington Rubgy Union, to-night, it was decided to call the delegatestogether to pasa a resolution compelling teams to clay under the referee ohosen by the Assooiation. The Petone-Wellington match will be played later in the season.
