S'IOOK REPORT. Mr W. Rose reports as followB: Daring the past fortnight I have held the following sales:— May 27th, Woodville—A small yarding of cattle, consisting chiefly of weaners and pigs, and very few of the former changing hands. May 12th, DannevirKe horse sale. —I had an entry of upwards of 150 horses. Mr Gobi's three 5 horse teams were not sold, the vendor re fusing to break the teams, otherwise they would have sold separately, being a first-class lot. Cheap draughts, spring oarters, haoks and light harness horses found a ready sale at ruling prices. May 14th, Norsewood stock sale. —A full yarding of both sheep and cattle, all of which were practically , sold under the hammer. Sheep: Fat sheep, mixed ages, 12s and 13s. Cattle: Fat 30ws, £4 to £4 15s, 3-year old steers £4 2s 6d, 2 to old steers £2 10s, springing heifers £4 15s, 18-months to 2-year-old steers £2 6s, empty cows £2 10s, bulls from £1 upwards. ' May 18th, Dnnnevirke stock sale--Three lines of advertised sheep did not como forward, owing to unforseen circumstances, but purchasers were found for them after the sale. There was a good yarding of cattle, the quality being on the average exceptionelly good. Sheep sold under the hammer. 1 quote as follows: —Fat ewes 14s 7d and 12s 6d, store ewes, empty 7s Id. Cattle—bullooks £G 6s and £5 2s 6d, fat heiferß £4 10b and £4 17s, fat cows £5 Is down to £4, 3-year old steers £3 15s to £4, 2 M -year old Bteer £3 3s to £3 158, weaners up to 13s 6d. Pigs—porkeis 14s to 235, slips 7s 6d. The big line of 2% to 3-year old steers passed in at the sale were afterwards sold at £3 15s. LONDON MARKET ADVICES. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, have reoeived the following oables from their London office, under date of the 17th instant":— Frozen meat.—Demand continues for lamb, but prices are weak. There is poor deipand for both frozen mutton and beef, prices for mutton are weak and the market for beef is very dull owing to the lack of demand. We quote: New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy, 4%d; light, 4%d. North Island lamb, heavy, 3%d; light, 4%d. New Zealand prime crossbred mutton. Canterbury, heavy 3%d, light 3%d; North Island, heavy 3%d, light New Zealand prime ox beef, fores hinds, 3M'i. Butter.—The Copenhagen official quotation remains unchanged, but there is a fair demand. The total imports of butter Into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 12h instant amoanted to 61,000 cwt. as compared with 96,000 cwt, for the corresponding week of 1905. Since our - telegram of the 10th instant, prices for French butter are lower by 4s cer cwt. Tallow.—Mutton tallow in general, prices unchanged. Other descriptions, at par to 3d per lb higher. Rabbit skins.—Result of to-day's Bales, fair to good qualities, price unchanged; greasy, lower by Id; suokers, lower by %d to Id.
