RAUPO v. FEATHERSTON. A match was played yesterday, at Masterton, -between the Eaupo and Featherston Olubs, and resulted in a win for Featberston by one goal (scored by Mies Cundy) to nil. Throughout the first spell the play was of a fairly even nature, but in the second half, Featherston showed to moat advantage, although they lost chances through overeagerness/ The Raupos rallied well on several occasions, but lost any advantage gained through not following up fast enough, and through allowing their opponents too muah time to hit instead of charging, the prevailing idea seeming to be that they should try to field the ball instead of tackling their opponents. Though beaten, they played well, and with,a little more knowledge of the different points of the game, should give a good aooounc of themselves in future matohes. For Featherston the beßt form, among a very even) team, was shown by Missus Oundy, Olsen, E. fiarr, ahd M/Aitcbeson (goal). All the Raupo
forwards played well, Miss Dean, perhaps, being seen* to moat advantage,' and among tile backs Mi&ses Berriman, Judd and Spackman did well. ( Mr Noble Campbell acted as referee and gave every satisfaction to both sides. After the match the visitors were entertained* at afiernoon tea by the members of the Eaupo Club, and expressed themselves delighted with the treatment received both on and off and field. The Rev. J. N. Buttle in a neat little speech welcomed the visitors, and Mks Cundy .'.'eeponded on behalf of the Featberston ladies. Miss Judd contributed a song and a very pleasant time waa spent.
