POPULATION OP THE TOWN. SCHOOL BATHS TO BE ERECTED. PALMBRSTON N., May 15. The population of Palmerston North is returned as 10,168, nn increase of 3,630 in five years. Palmerston North is now tbe iifth town in the colony. The Campbell Street School Committee has deoried to erect school baths at a cost of £SOO. Owing to the opening up of some old oess pits in connection with the new drainage works, a number of cases of diphtheria have occurred in the town.
