LABOUR IN COAL MINES. Received May 13, 10 r 45 a.m. LONDON, May 12. In the House of Commons a Bill, iutroduced by Sir J. T. Brunner, reducing the hours of labour in coal mines zo eight, by 1909, was read a second time, on the understanding that the Government appoint a committee to enquire into the economic effeot of the measure.
