A GERMAN SKIP DETAINED.
LONDON, May 10. While the German sailing ship Odysseus was unloading benzine oil at Ohibuklu, on the Bosohorns, in Asia Minor, the Turkish officials, suspecting that there were explosives aboard the vessel, towed her to Kavab, where she was detained beneath the batteries for several days. Baron Marschall von Bieberstein, German Ambassador to Turkey, intervened, but the Porte professed to know nothing of tho matter. Then the Ambassador, accompanied dy the captain and some sailors of the guardship Lorebi, re-hoisted the German flag aboard the Odysaeus and towed her back to Ohibuklu. On returning to the Embassy, Baron von Bieberstein found a re presentative of the Porte awaiting to furnish explanations, adding that the release of the ship had been ordered.
OFFICIAL APOLOGY DEMANDED. Received May 12, 12.36 a.m. LONDON, May 11. Baron Bieberstein has demanded an official apology in connection with tbe Odysseus incident, with ample compensation for the ownerj and the punishment of tbe guilty.
