HOCKEY.

CARTERTON v. KIA KAHA. A match was played on the Mastertoo Showgrounds, yesterday afternoon,' between the above teams, and resulted in a win for Kia Kahas by six goals to two. The game was rather interesting from a spectator'o point of view, and some good passing was indulged in by the Masterton players. The goals for the winners were scored by Williams (2), Rue (3), and McLean, while Baker and Feist scored for Carterton. Mr S. A. Noble-Campbell was referee. WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Wairaiapa Hockey Association was held, yesterday afternoon, when the following delegates were presentMessrs Feist (chairman) and Fisher (Carterton), Gordon and Bright (Eketahuna), Fairbrother and Daniell (W.F.C.A.), Williams and Hughes (Kia Kaha). The annual report and balancesheet, the latter showing a small credit balance*, were adopted. The application of the Eketahuna Hockey Club for affiliation to the Association was granted, on condition that all matches with Carterton be played at Masterton. It was decided to nominate a team for the seven-aside tournament to be played at Palmerston North on June 4th (Prince of Wales' Birthday), in which it is probable teams from Wanganui, Taranaki, Wellington, Manawatu, and other centres will taue part. A letter was received from the New Zealand Association asking the Association's opinion as to whether the annual fixture, North Island v. South Island, should be continued. Ifc was decided to reply that the Wairarapa Association considered the match should be continued. The eleotion of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:President, Mr A. O. Moore, P. H. G. Wil-iams and J. 0. McKillop; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr J. B. Rue; Matoh Committee Messrs <J. Fisher, Rue, Gordon, Pairbrother, and S. Noble Chmpbell; Postponement Committee, Messrs Feist, Williams and H. Wiles; VicePresident of the New Zealand Association, Mr W. E. Burley, Lyttelton. It was decided to commence the Major Cup matohes on May 24th, and the fixtures for the first round were drawn up as follow: May 24th—W.F.C.A. v. Eketahuna, atEketahuna; Carterton v. Kia Kaha, at Masterton. May 31—Kia Kaha v. Eketahuna, at Maaterton: Carterton v. W.F.C.A. at Masterton. June 14th W.F.C.A. v. Kia Kaha., at Masterton; Eketahuna v. Carterton, at Masterton. RAUPO CLUB. The members of 1 the Raupo Hookey Club held a very successful practice yesterday afternoon. Some good form was shown, and the Club should he able to put a strong team in the field this season.
