At the Selwyn Road Boards Association's meeting on Saturday, a resolution was passed in the direction of prohibiting or regulating the carting of old houses from the town into tbe road districts. The president said be had kuown a oase in which a house was shifted in such a state Ghat the workmen had to change every atitob of olothes before they could go home; and he bad seen a house on a lorry with the end wall flapping in and out with the motirn of the lorry. A member rose and said be bad himself peeled wall-paper from the wall of au old bouse being so shifted, and found it to be a Christohuroh. paper dated 1859!
