PROPOSED REDUCTIONS IN DUTItiS. Reoeived May 1, 12 9 p.m. LONDON, April 30. In the House of Commons, Mr Asquitb, Chancellor of the Exohequer, proposed a reduction of the preferential duty on stripped tobacco to three shillings and a halfpenny, that the coal fduty b& withdrawn in November, and that a penny be taKen off the tea duty in July.
