Y.M.C.A.
The monthly meeting of the Board of;Manngemeut of the Y.M.O.A. was heid last evening. The Chairman extended a hearty welcome to new members, who'were elected to the Board at the recent annual meeting. The following new members and associates were elected:—A. Hendry, J. G. Barrett, jnr., R. W. Carpenter, J. Kitchener, J. Johnson, W. Johnson, 0. L. Rees. A lettei was received from the local representative of the Women' 3 Christian Temperance Union regarding the visit of Mr R. Bligb to Masterton, asking the Association to assist in arranging for a leoture or series of lectures'on subjects relative to "Pure Living " It wan decided to refer the matter to a subcommittee, consisting of Mr MoEwen and the Secretary. In connection with providing literature for the reading room for the ensuing year, it was resolved that Messrs A. Donald .and A. Low confer with the officers of the Literary and Debating Society with a view to continuing the supply of suitable books and magazines. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr A. Boilings for supplying the necessary literature during the past year free of cost.
An application was received from the Literary and Debating Society for tbe use of the sooial hall on Wed.nesday evenings for the purposes of conducting the Society's business. The application was granted, and it was that decided that tbe billiardette table be removed on the night the Society meets. The cuatodian reported that the conduct of the members was very satisfactory, and that the rooms were being well patronised.
It was decided to hold the annual meeting of the Bible Class on Sunday next.
