LAND BOARD.
A meeting of the Wellington Land Board was held on Thursday morning when there were present:— Messrs J. Strauohon (chairmanl, A. Reece, J. Dawson, J. Stevens, M.H.R., and T. H. Robinson. With reference to the application for section 300, block 15, Wainuioru, by May M. Douglas and Vincent J. H. Richards, lodged before Janu aiy 4th, Mr Douglas attended. —Jt was decided that in the circumstances the applications should not be admitted A ballot for tne section was then taken, whinn resulted in Mr Martin being successful. Tho following transfers were approved ou the usual conditionalSection 5, block 1, Mangahao, P. Martin to W. G. Aitken. Section, 38, block 5, Mount Cerberus, A. Ohristofferscn to L. P. Hansen. Section 2, block 6, Aohanga, R. Robertson to E. A. Hill. Section 18a, block I, Aohanga, 0. WeatherJy to A. J. Weatherley. Section I, block 5, Ruabine. H. G. P. Mortenson to J. Cornfoot. Section 10, block 9, Mount Cerberus, A. ChatHeld to S. Smith; Sections 13 and 11, block 6, Mount Cerberus. 1 M. J. Shanaghan apnlied to transfer section 14, block 5, Mount Cerberus, to Mr Jamos Monaghau.—lt waß resolved that there was no power to approve the application, as Mr Monagbau appeared to be ineligible to execute the required declaration. The following transfers wore approved, subject to the usual conditions:—Section 10, block 2, Mount Cerberus, from W. 11. Hallam to C. JLunt. Section 5, block 14, Manganui, J. B. Hawes to E. M. laterson. Sections 2 and 3, Aohanga, P. Brady to Mrs M. P. Dunn.—The board debided that as a large profit was disclosed, and the transfer did not appear to be eligible, they were unable to deal with Mr W. Henderson's application for a transfer of sections 1 and la, block 8, Mount Cerberus, to Mr G. W. West. The application of Mr A. G. Carty to the Board to waive residence on section 19, block 16, Apiti, was apDroved. The title of section 40, block 1, Rnahine, to G. N. Brown, was approved on the usual conditions, tho title not to issue until after June 30tb, 1906. It was resolved to approve of sections iu tho Mahupuku settlement being, offered for selection and grouped into mixed farms and small grazing runs, and classified and subdivided at prices ranging from £4 6s 9d to £6 4s per acre. It was deaided to approve of sections in the Hikawera being offered for selection grouped as ordinary farms, and classified and subdivided at prices ranging from £5 4s lid to £6 2s 8d per acre.
Permission was given to Mr E. Pllkington to fell a white pine tree on the Waiowaka Boad Reserve on payment of a royalty of 6d per 100 superficial leet. It was resolved to invite tenders for the grazing on seotioas 6,' 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 73, on Moawhango township, for a period of seven years. It was resolved to offer a few sections in Pongaroa township by auction in Wellington at prices to be fixed by the Commissioner, also section 17, block 7, with £IOO for improvements.
