Reoeived April 27, B.dO a.m. NEW YORK, April 26. At a women's meeting of the Califorian Club, held in this city, it was decided to accept donations from abroad for the San Frauoisco sufferers. The resolution declared that the denial of the right to contribute on the ground of nationality was harmful, the presence of such an unprecedentedly large foreign element in San Franoißco being a reason for accepting such large contributions. THE INSURANCES.

AN ESTIMATE OF LOSSES.

Received April 27, 9.17 a.m. LONDON, April 26. It is estimated that the losses of the different companies are as follow: Koyal, £1,350,000; London and Lancashire, £1,078,670; Liver-, ifcool, London and Globe, £1.000,000;' total, £3,428,600. REPORT OF BRITISH CONSUL. WELLINGTON, April 27. The Premier has reoeived, from the Governor, the following telegram sent by the British Consul at Oakland:—"The disastet is principally confined to San Franoisao, Santa Rosa, and San Jose. Tbe New Zealand casualties are, believed to be very small; indeed, they are not actually known yet. I am making enquiries as to the persons named in your telegrams. Tbe fol'owing are known to be safe:-—Dr Albert Sykes, Messrs Harry Hutton, W. G. Harrison. H. T. Wbitson and wife."
