NEWTOWN STABBING AFFRAY.
WELLINGTON, April 25. The deutb of John Prestidge, a«e;J 63. wbo succumbed at the Oospila 1 to injuries reoeived In a stabbing affray on the nigh!; of April sth, was tbe subject of a Coroner's inquiry to-day. Ttiomas Henry Good ger, whc is at present in oustody, was charged with causing Prestidge's death. Ihe jury found that death resulted from tbe septic poisoniuc of wounds cansod by Goodger. It is alleged that during an altercation, in which deceased aocused Goodger of leading young Prescidce to driuk Goodger struck the old man severa times and stabbed him with a pocket kuife. Prestidge was taken to the Hospital and attended to. He left the institution, but was taken back in a few days iu a bad state. He had reoeived a wound two inches deep in the armpit and it was this whioh led to his death.
