RIVER PLATE MUTTON AND LAMB.

The Department of Industries and Commerce hasreoeivea the following cable from the High Commispioner, dated London, ISth inst.:—"The April shipments from the River Plate during the month of March, 1906. were—- Mutton: London, 85,062 carcases; Liverpool, 90,492; Hull, 9,354; Newcastle, 6,600; Southampton, 1,510; Plymouth, 1.305; total, 194,323 carcases. Lamb: London, 10,514 caroases; Liverpool. 6.743; Hull, 1,000; Newcastle, 1,000; Southampton, 301; total, 19,558 carcases.
