HIDE AND SKIN SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report with regard to their hide and skin sale at Wellington, as follows:—We report having held our •ißual fortnightly sale of skins, hides, etc., on Wednesday. The prices realised at last sale were fully maintained, and we quote as follows: —Wool—Crossbred, B%d to dead and pieces, 7d to pieces, 4d. Slrins—Crossbred, 9d V to9>£d; woolly lambs 9^d; mernio shorts, B%d to 9d; dead and inferior, . 8d; pelts, 2s 8d each; salted, dry, 4s lid to 6s 3d green, 5s 9d each. Hides, prime ox, 6d per lb; cow 5%d tos%d; calf, 6d to 7>£d; slippy calf, sd; horsehair, la for lb. H Messrs Levin and Company, Wellington, report:—We offered, on the 11th instant, 35 bales wool, 1,500 skins, 200 hides and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool sold at recent rates. We quote: Coarse orossbred, to lOd; inferior and log-stained, B>£d to pieces and bellies, 7d to 7%d; locks, 3d to sd; good lambs wool, lOd to lid; 7d to 9%d; seedy, to B%d. Skins—There was good competition and prices ruled equal to last sale. We quote: Merinos, 9d to 9}fed; fine orossbreds, 9d to lOd; ooaise, 9d to dead skins, 8d to short wools, to woolly skins, grewn, 5s 6d to 63 8d; bare pelts, 2s 9d to 3s 2d; woolly lamb skins green, 4s 6d to 5s 3d; bare lambs pelts, 3s to 3s lOd. Tal-, low—Casks, 21s 3d; tins, 18s; sacks, 13a 9d. Horsehair—ls 6d to 2s 9d per lb. Hornß—7s to 18s per hundred. Hides—Good demand and prioes advancod a further farthing for heavy ox. We quote—Ox hides, 5%d to cow hides, 5%d to 5%d; opt and slippy hides, 4%d to 534 d;' calf skins, 6d to 7%d. The next sale will be held on 27th April.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Wellington, report on the 11th instant:—* We offered and sold a fair-aized catalogue of wool, skinp, etc. Prices realised were equal to last sale. We quote:—"Wool: Ooars9crossbred, rough and inferior, B%d to 9d; merino, inferior, 9d to 9>£d; lambs, coarse and se-dy, 8d to 9cl; pieces and bellies, none offered; scoured merino, pieces, lid. Sheepskins: Crossbred, B%d to 9%d; haifbred and merino, B}<jd to lOd; broken and inferior, 7d to By a d; lambskin, B}£d to lOd; green skins, 4s Gd to 6s 2d; lambs, shorn, 3s 3d; woolly to ss. Hides: Ox and cow, sound, to 5%d; damaged, to calf from to 7%d. Tallow: In casks, 21s to 22s 3d; tins, 16a 6d to 18s; rough fat, 'lss to 15s 3d.
