MASTERTON GYMNASIUM.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Masterton Gymnasium and Physical Training School was held in the Gymnasium last evening. Mr W. P. James occupied the chair, and about 20 members were present. The annual report aud Dalanoesheet, the latter showing a credit balance of £8 16s lid, were adopted. A letter was received from the Instructor, Mr A. H. Jewiss, stating that he would arrive in a few days in time for the opening nigh t on tbe 18th instant. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:-—President, Mr W. P. James; Vice-Presidents, Rev. Dean McKenna, Messrs W. G. Beard, G. H. Perry, J. G. Eliott, W. H. Cruickshank, W. H. Jackson, W. Beetham, W. B. Cbennells, D. K. Logan, D. Caselberg, A. Henderson, M. 0. O'Connell; Secretary, C. J. Mackellar; Treasurer, pro tern, S. A. Noble-Campbell; Auditor, G. W. Sellar; General Committee, Messrs B. Chapman, C. G. Monro, J. Bradbury, J. W. Entwistle, C. H. Taylor, B. lorns, B. | Donald and A. C. Williams; Finance Committee, Messrs W. G. Beard, D. K. Logan, A. Henderson; Pianist, Miss M. Fuller; Instructor, Mr A. H. Jewiss. Votes of thanks were passed to the Chairman, Mr W. P. James, and the retiring Treasurer, Mr A. Henderson. Seoretary, Mr A. C. Williams, and the Hon. Auditor, Mr G. W. Sellar. A sub.-committee, consisting of Mossrs Williams, Bradbury and Mackellar, was appointed to draw up a syllabus for the year, and tbe following days were appointed:— Monday, small boys 4 to 5 p.m., youths 6.45 to 8 p.m., men 8 to 10 p.m.; Tuesday, girls 4 to 5 p.m., maids G. 45 to 8 p.m., ladies 8 to 9.3U p.m,; Wednesday, small boys 4 to 5 p.m., youths, 6.45 to 8 p.m., men 8 to 10 p.m.; Friday, girls 4 to 5 p.m., maids 6.45 to 8 p.m., ladies 8 to 9.30 p.m. Twelve new members were elected.
