General Sleyztoff, Governor of Tver, in Central Russia, while driving in the principal street of Tver, had bombs thrown into his lap. His trunk and head were hurled yards away; one of his legs remained in tbe vehicle. The explosion injured three ladies, two boys, and the coachman seriously. A young man, eighteen years of age, was suspected of the deed, aud has been arrested. Slepztoff was frequently threatened, owing to his countenancing the massacres of Zemstvoists at Tver in October last. ■ MUZZLING THE PRESS. . Received April 9, 8.41 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG April 8. An Imperial ukase promulgates a new press law, placing every Russian newspaper at the mercy of the Government.
