WEST COAST SCENERY.

HOKITIKA. April 5. Dr 'Hell, who was interviewed here, spoke very hopefully of the future in store for Westland. The geological survey of the north district was practically oompleted. He was very favourably impressed with the prospects of the Westland Reef. He spoke highly of the overland trip from Canterbury to South Westland by way of Fitzgerald Pass, the route by Copeland Valley, on the western side, being described as one of the prettiest scenio routes in the qolony. There ' were hot springs in the valley of considerable magnitude, .forming curious yellow and reddish terraces.
