OPAKI QUOITS CLUB.

(Special to Age)

The monthly competitions of the Opaki Quoits Club was held at Mr T. Wyeih's ground on Saturday. The senior contest resulted in a win for G. Welch, with A. Searle seoond, and H. Duckett third. A Chamberlain won the junior competition, with . T. Wyeth, junr., seoond, and N. Wyeth third. There was spirited competition amongst the ladies for the Honolulu curio (a belt) presented by Mr J. Pain. The trophy was eventually won by Mrs. Thomas, with Mrs Wyeth seoond. At the afternoon tea adjournment Mr A. Tankersley presented Mr MoKenzie with a silver teapot, donated by Mr J. L. Murray. Thi» trophy, whioh has to be won three times at intervals, has resulted in keen competition. Several players have secured "legs in" for the trophy. Mr Tankersley notified the players that Mr T. Wyeth had donated a guinea as the seoond prize in the Challenge Cup (provided that 300 games are played for the Cup), and Mr Clune had donated half a guinea as third prize. In addition to these prizes, Mr J. O. itlwington bad donated a set of carvers for competition. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the donors. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladieß, and was muoh appreciated. A hearty vote of thanks was aocorded the ladies. A meeting of thfe Committee of the club will be held on Tuesday night-, April 3rd, wheu arrangements will be made in connection with another trophy competition.
