MASTERTON STOCK SALE.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. held their fortnightly sale, yesterday, when about 6,000 sheep, besides oattle, came forward. There was a good attendance of buyeis, but, on account of the reoent severe weather, stock appeared to disadvantage, and buyers were not eager, to operate. Prices were low throughout and several lots were passed out unsold. For really good conditioned young ewes there was a sound inquiry, but for sound-mouth ewes, unless in forward condition, business was dull. Wethers were demand, but the lots offered were in most cases uneven. No rape lambs came forward, but there was a large entry of store lambsV these selling in praotioally every instance. The top prioe for sound breeding ewes was 13s lOd, other sound good-conditioned ewes to 12s 3d, sound medium-conditioned ewes 7s 9d to 9s Id, oulls 4s to 5s 2d, store lambs 6s 3d to 7s, oulls 3s 7d, 2 and 4-tootb wethers 13s 6d [to lis Id, store 2- tooth wethers 13s, 2tooth Romney rams to gns, f.m. Shropshires %gn, 6-tooth Leioesters Ign, 2y«ar steers 455, weaner pigs 3s to ss.
MASTERTON STOCK SALE,
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—> At their fortnightly sale, yesterday, the number of sheep coming forward showed a large decrease, as compared with reoent yardings. We again enconntered ewes of the culled class, and these sorts, unless unreserved, failed to-' sell. Any good sound or forward pens sold readily, as did any strong lambs or wethers. In cattle we submitted several pens of forward steers, all selling, aged cows being neglected, fat and forward ewes made from 12s to 13s, good breeding ewes from lis to 12s, others 8s 3d to 9s 3d, oulls from 3s, best lambs, shorn 8s 2d, small sorts 3s Id to ss, small wethers lis to 12s 4d, Romney rams, 2-tooth 3%gns, 6-tooth lgn to aged >2gn, forward steers £4 to £& lis, 2 to 2 40s,
