A DAY'S BAY SENSATION.
ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MUKDER.

An affray took place at Day's Bay, on the eastern si3e of the harbour, to-day, which resulted in Harry Booquet, a Frenchman, employed as a waiter at the Kelburne Tea Kiosk, being placed under airest, and charged with attempted murder. Bocquet went to the Bay by an afternoon steamer, and waited on Mrs Reille, fcne wife, since Monday, of a labourer living in that district. Immediately on seeing her it is alleged that he drew a revolver. The woman closed with hitu, and endeavoured to gain possession of the weapon, and a dasDeraie struggle was proceeding wiien the husband appeared on the scene and joined in the fight. Mrs Reille then retired from the struggle, which was carried on by the two men. Booquet, it is alleged, lired Ht Reille, but the revolver misfired. Reille then succeeded in obtaining possession of the weapon. Bocquet was arre-ted on the arrival of the evening steamer in town.
