* EKETAHUNA STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly sale, at Eketahuna, yest«rday. Owing to the heavy rain several advertised lots were absent. However, upwards of 5,000 sheep were yarded, and a fair number of cattle. There was a largo nttoncJanco of local buyers, but not so many outsiders as at last sale. Though bidding, excepting in a few instances, was not free, tbe bulk of the entries found purchasers under the hammer. Prices for anything but good young sheep showed a decided drop from recent rates, but as vendors recognised this, sales were effected in practically every .nstance. A good line of 2-tooth ewes sold at 16s, best sound-mouth breeding ewes lis 6d to 14s, medium sound-mouth 8s to 10s Id, poor conditioned soundmouth ewes 8s to 9s, culls 3s 8d to 7s, cull lambs 2s 8d to ss, 2-tooth wethers 13s 10d, 2-tooth Linooln* rams 2%gns to 3gns, Romney rams to 2gns, good calves 15s to 16s 6d, steers 63s 6d; 3year steers 80s, store cows 40s, springing heifers 70s.
