The Thames sufferers, though some were badly attacked, are all well. The. residents of Paeroa, Waihi and Hamilton are reported, also, to have recovered. It is stated that the tongues were boiled in a copper aDd allowed to stand all night. , It is believed that she action of the salt on the copper contaminated the tongues, though a strange circumstance is that the, persons who refrained from eating the tongues, and only partook of tea, were similarly attacked.
