DROWNING FATALITY.
A PILOT AND ASSISTANT LOSE THEIR LIVES. WANGANUI, Maroh 22. News was received to-night that the Patea pilot (Captain Peterson) and his assistant (Charles Larsen) were drowned while taking soundings on the Patea bar, to-day. Captain Peterson was formerly master of the steamer Acrere, and had been two years at Patea.
