A BANKRUPT SOLICITOR.

NET DEFICIENCY OP OVER £9,000. CHRISTCHURCH, March 19. The first meeting of creditors of P. H. Bruges, barrister and solicitor, was held this afternoon. The statement showed that unsecured creditors were owed £10,826 7s 7d, the net deflcienoy being £9,070 19s Id. Bankrupt, in his sworn statement, said his professional earnings had always largely exceeded his private expenses. The financial part of his practice waa controlled by a managing clerk, and he was not aware of his involved ponition till last year, when he executed an assignment for the benefit of his creditors. Aftei some discussion, during which it was stated that a public examination would be applied for, the meeting adjourned till April 2nd.
