COMPENSATION FOR INJURY. COMMON SENSE REMARKS BY MR JUSTICE DARLING. Received March 14, 12.45 p.m. LONDON, Maroh 14. The Jury awarded a girl injured by "looping the loon," at Sunderland, £250 damages. Mr Justice Darling held that the agreement relieving the proprietress of the theatre in the event of injury to the girl, was worthless, because it was against public policy. He commented on the inconsistency of the country in forbidding bull fights, while it tolerated feats likely to iuvolve mutilation or death.
