EKETAHUNA STOCK SALE,

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly sale, at Eketahuna, yesterday, when upwards of 5,000 sheup, besides cattle, came forward. Messrs Abrahams and Williams again kindly came forward with the use of their yards, and all available space in these and our usual yards was occupied. The entry chiefly comprised breeding ewes, and bidding was spirited for all good lines. Though all lots were cleared with very few exceptions, aged sheep were difficult to quit. Cattle were dull of sale, and several pens were passed in. The top price for the day was .for a line of 2-tooth ewes, on account Mr L. AtkinsoD, which reached lss Id; 4-tooth to f.m. ewes, on aocouat same vendor, sold at# 15s 3d; another pen of 4tooth to f.f.m. ewes, on account Messrs Welch Bros., reached 14s 4d; and on account Mr E. Tomlinson, 14s lOd; oa others vendors' account sound mouth ewes sold from lis to 13s 9d, 2-tooth ewes 13s 5d to 14s 4d, aged ewes 2s 6d to 9s, good shorn lambs 9s Id to 9a sd, others 5s 8d to 8s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 12s 8d to 15s. A large number of rams were sold. Two-tcoth Lincolns, on account Mr R. Bremer, 3}£gns to 4gns; on other vendors' aooount, Romneys and Leicesters )£gn to 2gns. In cattle empty cowh sold from 203 to 755, yearling steers 31s to 40s, yearling steers and heifers 24s to 30s, calves lis tu 14s, small calves 68 to 9s. Aged harness horse £3.
