THE CADET MOVEMENT.
EXCEPTION TAKEN BY SCHOOLTEACHERS.
WELLINGTON, February 27,
Certain aspects of the Cadet movement is meeting with some resentment from teaohers iu the Wellington educational district. It is alleged that the Cadets are called out on every oonoeivable ocoasion to parade themselves, thus greatlyjmterrdring with their school work. The question was considered by the Wellington Education Board, to-day. Mr T. W. McDonald said there was no doubt that the teachers had a genuine grievance. It was felt by headmasters that so manyToeremoniai parados jeopardised parade's. He moved that the Board resolves to disallow any further oeremonial parades without oonisderation. Mr Hogg. M.H.R., seconded the motion, fie thought they were going really too far with this spirit of militarism amongst children. The people responsible for this condition of things were not in their proper senses. Mr McDonald's motion was carried. .All applications for ceremonial parades must, iu future, come before a sub-commiltee of the Board.
