The Noumean mail brings news of an agitation in regard , to the question of th<j desirableness or otherwise of resuming the transportatiou of reoidivistes. Local inteiest in the question is increased by the near approach of the elections, and parties are divided on it. The offioal glass, and many commercial men strongly advocate resumption on the ground of securing cheap labour, while the larger body of colonists and workers are hostile.
