TOKIO, February 26.

The people of Tokio have beea hoaxed. Those lesponsible for the trouble, giving themselves an offlaial title, threw the population into a state of panic by telephoning in all directions an impending earthquake, which it was stated would cause widespread destruction. When it was proved that the whole affair was a hoax there was _ great indignation. It is supposed that the hoaxers' objeot wbb to facilitate burglaries.
