AUSTRALASIA'S BORROWING.
LONDON FINANCIERS ANNOYED. AN ABSURD THREAT. Received February ,$2. 9.58 p.m MEBOURME, February 22, The Age says, in connection with the New Zealand loan, that it seems that the London finnanoiers are by np means being passed by. Tiie latter have so long controlled Australasia's borrowings that it seetnß to be feared that the "breaking away" is coming on, and this, instead of, as we have been led to expeot, being regarded with satisfaction, has had precisely the opposite effeot. Indeed, as far as New Zealand is concerned, the representative of that colony, in Loudon, has already been warned that should there be any further diversions from the market, arrangements for all conversions will have to be made elsewhere. Evidently London dees not waut to iosw the Australasian business. Hence the federated States may get better terms in the future.
