OAMARU, February 12. There is a great scarcity of farm bands in tbis district. Though the harvest has not yet beeun, yet there are no hands to thin turnips., Large numbers have been drafted during the last few months to the Government 00-operative works, and the labour officer is still despatching men. It is feared there will be a loss at harvest time unless arrangements are made to bring men to the distriot. ' \ ■
