An incident reported from Nelson is illustrative of the enthusiasm with which Westland dropped its ordinary occupations and faooonipanied the Premier in thousands wherever he went in his recent tour. A case came on at the Nelson Court, having been adjourned from January 9th, a West Coast bailiff not having served the summons. A fortnight bad elapsed, and still the summons had not been served, when all was made olear by. the counsel for the plaintiff, who mentioned that the summons had been returned to Nelson with a memo, endorsed as follows:—•'Bailiff touring country with Mr Seddon—unable to serve summons."
