LAND BOARD.
'lhe Laud Board concluded its monthly sitting in Wellington, on Friday. There were pre ent—Messrs J. Strauchon (chairman), A. Reese, T. H. Robinson and J. Dawson. The Commissioner submitted a summary of 148 rangers' reports from which it appeared (hat 138 selectors bad complied with regulations, and ten wero defaulters. It was resolved to consider the 138 as satisfactory, and to take the usual action in regard to Ihe defaulters. Mr W. S. Patrick applied to surrender bis interest iu section 19, block 6, Puketo*, and it was resohed not to approve of tho request, but to advise him that if he so desired his interest in the lease could bo forfeited on non-payment of rental. The following titles wero approved —J. McCardle, sections 19 and 20, block 5, Aohanga. TRANSFERS. The following transfers were ap proved:—Sections 29 and 29a, block 4, Puketoi, F. L. Fulcher to R. B. Robertson; section 19, block 3, Potaka. G. Guinan to J. H. Carter section 14, block 4, Taiarua, J. and J. Stephens to E. Daldy; section 9, block 14, Apiti, S Knight to J. F. 1. Romley; section 43, block 18, Mangahao, T. MoMulleo to H. F. Petersen; seotions 5, 6, 7, 8, block 11, Aohanga, J. Jamieson and F. F. Hewitt to H. G. Hunter (subject to improvements being effected); sections .6, 7, 8, 9, 10, block 10, Aobanga, S. Banning to James McGaughrati. Messrs Smith and McSherry wrote asking the Board to consider the application of Mr H. H. Dunn to transfer sections 16 and 17, block 5, Aohanga, to Mr James S, McCardle. This was agreed to on certain conditions. Mr« M. Dickens' section 4, block 1, Mount Cerberus, was transferred to Mr A. Dickens. Mr J. Gunther's application to sub-divide section 2, blook 1, Mount Cerberus, and transfer 35 acres to Mr A. Dickens was approved. The Crown Lands Ranger reported on the Crown land withheld from sale in Woodville No. 2 and Christchurbb blocks.. It was resolved to retain section 24, block 4, Puketoi, for bush and water conservation, to dispose of sections 25 arid 20 in the same blook, and to Withhold sections 8, 9, 22 and 23, block 3, Puketoi, for the present.
