MASTEETON STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report a heavy yarding of sheep and cattle at the Masterton yards yesterday The chief entry was of lambs, and there was a large attendance uf buyers, but bidding was easier than at recent sales, and several large lines were passed in. The top price for woolly lambs was 10s, others 8s to 9s lid, culls from 3s 6d to 5s lid, shorn lambs, best, 9s 9d; others to 8s; 2-tooth fat and forward ewes, 13s Id; 2-tooth ewes and wethers, 13s 6d. In cattle, fat cows sold to £5 ss; store bullocks, £4 15a; forward heifers, £4; heifers in calf, 55s 6d; 15-months steers and heifers, 335; Shorthorn bull, £5 ss; largo slips 17s, weaners, 8s to lis. The New Zealand Loan and Mer cantile Agency Co., report as follows on their Masterton stock sale, held yesterday:—The yarding in sheep was fairly heavy, all classes excepting fats being represented. Several lots of wetters offered, all selling freely with increased demand. Breeding ewes were mostly of the aged type, and figures made for them on the low side, any young ewes offering were quickly snapped up. In lambs only one pen of suitable for rape feeding offered, these selling, the poorer sorts failing to reach owners' reserves. In cattle, cows represented the beef class, all selling. Grown steers, also, made good values, as also any good quality young steers or yearlings, the rough sorts being., passed out. Best store wethers made 14s, others 13s to 13s Bd, sound ewes up to 13s 6d, others 9a 4d- to lis 3d, rape lambs (shorn), 9s to 9s 6d, large steers £4 15s, two-year-olds £2 15s, fat cows from £4, two-year-old heifers 50s, yearlings 24s to 30s, forward cowb 40s to 60s.

WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALE. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., Masterton, report on' their wool, skin and hide sale, held yesterday:—"We offered to-day 75 bales wool, 175 bags wool, 1,700 sheepskins, and 120 hides; also some tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was strong, particularly for pelts and hides. Wool—Medium crossbred fleeoe sold at B}£d to 9d, cotted and inferior fleece 8d to pieces and bellies s}£d to locks to 4}£d, lambs' wool sold from 9%A. Sains—Good crossbreds B%d to 9d, dead skins 7d to 7%d, lamb skins 8d to B%d, bare pelts 2s to 2s 9d, woolly plets 3s to 4s 6d. Hides —There was a considerable advan'ce on last sale prioes. We quote— Medium ox 22a 6d to 265, medium cow 18s to 21s, calf skins 2s to 6s 3d, inferior ox up to 20e, inferior cow up to 15s. Tallow—Jn tins and drums 16s to 16s 6d cwt. Horsehair—ls 3}id lb. Cow tails Is 7d per dozen. The firm's next sale is fixed for 14th March. W.F.0.A., LTD. The Wairarapa Farmers' Association, in conjunction with Messrs Dalgety and Co., held ibeir usual monthly wool, and skin sales, yesterday afternoon, and report as follows:

We submitted a full catalogue of sheep skins, pelts, fleeoe wool, looks, pieces, lambs wool, oddments, also, a fair number of hides, there being a good attendance of buyers. Prices of sheep skins were very good, bringing from 6}£d to for good crossbreds; one line of half bred realised 9%d. Pelts were in great demand and realised from 2s 6d up to 4s 8d each; pieces, 3>£d to 4>£d; orutchings, 4%d to s^d;'fleece wool, to 7d; lambs wool, B%d to B%d. Hides sold at higher rates than before. We think, we topped the market with a very fine line of ox hides, which brought 33s eaob. Other lines—Ox, from 18s to 255, oow hides, 14s to 17s 6d; slippy oow, lis; yearlings, 6a'6d.
