The programme of the autumn meeting of the Horowhenaa Hack Raning Club, which takes dace on the new racecourse, at Levin, on March 16th and 17th next, appears in another column. The Club is to be congratulated on its progress generally, and the liberal stakes it is offering for the forthcoming meeting, which should attract firßt-class entries from all parts of the colony. Eight events are to be run eaob day, the chief attraction on the first day being the Horowhenua Hack Handicap, of 150 sovs, Park Stakes, Koputaroa Hack, St. Patrick's Welter and Hokio Hack Handicaps, of 60 sovs each; and on the second day the Racing Club Handicap, of 85 sovs. The Club have arranged three open events iu each day's programme. This means that the ten events in the back division have been well piovidtd for, as no first stake is of less value than 50sovs. The up-to-date condition of the course at present is very pleasing, the club having been to great expense to effect this thoroughly. A double track has been formed for exercising—one ploughed, the other sawdust—and both are in splendid order. The course is only about seven minutes walk from the railway station, and this fact alone should be an extra inducement to persons living at a distance attending the meeting. Nominations for all events cloße with the Secretary, Mr F. G. Roe, Weraroa, Levin, at 8.30 p.m., on Saturday, February 21tb*
