BRITISH POLITICS.
THE GOVERNMENT'S MAJORITY. MR RUXTON OUTLINES THE ; POLICY. f ■ Received January 29, 9.20 p.m. LONDON, January 29. Mr Sydney Buxton, speaking at London, said it was not difficult to say what the (jovernraent would do with their majority, in the immediate future they intended to put elementary education on a national basis, and they would, also,, deal with trade uuion if desired. Later they would deal with the many social labour questions now before them on a substantial radical basis, but they must be beware of the danger of shipwreok on the rock, whereon they had previously been wrecked, trying to run too many horses abreast. There must be give and take, out in view of the Government's large majority the House of Lords would be less likely than formeily to rejeot or mutilate any measures. It might be anticipated that Bills carried in the House of Commons would have in some way or other to receive the aßsent of the House of Lords. THE UNEMPLOYED. DEMONSTRATION TO RE HELD' IN HYDE PaRK.
