COMPETITION IN SHIPPING CIRCLES.
Received January 28 4.19 p.m. BERLIN, January 27. Advices have been received in Berlin that the P. and O. Company will start, in February, fortnightly services betwen Hamburg and India, at considerably reduced rates compared with those charged by the Hansa Line. This is interpreted in Berlin as an attempt to oust the Hansa Line from the Antwerp-India route.
