AMERICA AND THE PHILIPPINES.
REPORTED DESIRE TO SELL. NE'V YORK, Jan. 23. Mr Wright, Governor-General of the Philippines, has been appointed American Ambassado* at Tokio. It is reported in New York that Mr Wright is empowered to discuss the sale of the PhiliDnine Islands to Japan, owing to disappointment in America at the cost of annexation.
