WRESTLING.

PEAROfi v. SANDOW. Harry Pearce, "the champion wrestler of Australasia," met Harry Sandow, the North Island champion, before a large crowd in the Foresters' Hall last evening in a match, the conditions being that the former was to throw the latter three times within one hour or forfeit £lO. Shortly after 9 o'clock the combatants appeared, and the time arranged was bouts of fifteen minutes each. The match was not of a particularly exciting nature. With Sapdow on the defensive, Pearce had to make the pace, but he only succeeded in throwing his opponent once, and that was in the eighth minute of the seoond round. The crowd seemed to enjoy the sport immensely, and towards the end became very excited, but try as he might Pearce could only manage one fall, and the matoh ended, he being the loser of the forfeit money.
