ATHLETICS.
THE WAIRARAPA AMATEUR ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Committee of the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Association was held last evening. There were present—Messrs S. A. Noble-CaniDbell (chair) A.E. Wilton, A. K. Johnson, J. Kelliher, W. W. Chambers, and A. Kitto. The Wellington Centre wrote suggesting tbat the time for closing nominations should be postponed, pending the applications for reinstatement ot Hodge (Wellington), Goodbehero (Palmerston North), Louden (Port Nicholson), and Steward (Mastorton), being settled. It was pointed out" that the Committee could not see their way to alter the date of closing nominations, as the time was too short to have the sports books published, 1 and it was decided to write to the Wellington centre, asking that the handicapyer (Mr Larkin) be informed immediately of the result of the applications for re-instantement of the competitors named. The following officials were appointed:—Referee, S. R. Edwards; Marshall, F. Hunn; Starter, J. C. McKillon; Judges, A. Haughey and S. Noble Campbell; Timekeepers, A. Henderson, W. W. Chambers and J. C. Ewingtou; Marksman, A. Kitto; Number Steward,JJ. Kelliher; Colour Steward, A. Kitto and S. Noble Campbell; Blackboard Steward, A. K. Johnston: Stewards, A. E. Wilton, Fisb, D. Hoppy, E. Dixon, Walker, A. Davis, and F. E. Robertson; Measure Steward, E,, Waite; Messenger, M. Miller; Handicap per, W. F. Larkin; Judge of Walking, S. R. Edwards and H. Goodwin. It was decided to run a 220 Yards Kace at the Band Sports on Thursday evening.
